Terms of use
Last updated 7 September 2026
These terms cover your use of Listalot. By creating an account you agree to them. They are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia.
What Listalot does
It keeps a register of what you own, estimates what those things would cost to replace new, and compares that total against the sum insured and sub-limits you enter from your own policy. It produces documents you can give an insurer.
What Listalot is not
It is not financial or insurance advice, and it is not a valuation. Every figure is an estimate: replacement values are suggestions you confirm, and the sub-limits are the ones you typed in from your own schedule. We are not an insurer, a broker, or an adviser, and we hold no financial services licence.
Your policy document is what governs your cover — not this app. Before relying on anything here, check it against the schedule and product disclosure statement your insurer gave you, and speak to them or to a licensed adviser about your own circumstances.
The app tells you how complete your inventory is precisely because an incomplete one produces a number that is wrong in a direction that flatters you. Read that caveat.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think somebody else has it. You are responsible for what happens in your household, including what the people you invite do. One person owns each household; owners can transfer that.
Your content stays yours
The photographs, documents and records you put into Listalot belong to you. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service — storing your files, showing them to the people you invite, and sending an image to our AI provider when you ask it to identify something. Nothing you enter is used to train AI models.
You can export everything at any time, and closing your household destroys it.
Plans and payment
The free plan is free. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance in Australian dollars, including GST, through Stripe. Cancel whenever you like and the plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
If you cancel or a payment fails, your household drops back to the free plan and you keep every record you entered. Limits apply to adding new things, never to what already exists. Data you entered is never the thing that gets taken away.
We will give at least 30 days’ notice before changing a price.
Acceptable use
Do not upload anything unlawful, do not try to reach another household’s data, do not attempt to break or overload the service, and do not resell it. We may suspend an account doing any of those, and will say why.
Availability
We aim to keep Listalot running and back it up, but it is provided without a guaranteed uptime. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose — the export exists for exactly that, and using it occasionally is a sensible habit.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot lawfully be excluded.
Beyond those rights, our liability for any claim connected with Listalot is limited, at our option, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied, and in any case to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for an insurance claim being reduced or refused — your cover is a matter between you and your insurer.
Ending it
You can close your household at any time from the app. We may end your access if you breach these terms, and will give you a reasonable chance to export your data first unless the law prevents it.
Changes
If these terms change materially we will tell you before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Listalot afterwards means you accept the new terms.
